A private vault for your photos, files and notes

Olivenlock encrypts everything on your phone with a passcode only you know. No account. No servers. Nobody else can open it, including us.

Free for up to 25 items.

What people keep in Olivenlock

The things you want close at hand, but never in your camera roll or a cloud folder.

Passport and ID photos

Copies of your passport, driver's licence and ID cards for travel or when your wallet goes missing.

Important documents

Birth certificates, insurance papers, medical records and contracts as photos or PDFs.

Crypto recovery phrases

A secure note for wallet seed words and keys, kept off the internet.

Private photos

Photos that shouldn't appear when you hand someone your phone.

Passwords and PINs

Door codes, alarm PINs, backup codes and the logins you rarely need.

How it works

Three steps, and nothing ever leaves your device.

1

Create a passcode

It becomes the only key to your vault. Olivenlock never stores it.

2

Add what matters

Take a photo, import from your library or files, or write a secure note.

3

It's encrypted instantly

Every item is encrypted before it is saved. Even the file names.

Security you can explain in one sentence

Your files are encrypted on your device with a key that only your passcode can unlock.

AES-256-GCM

The same standard used by banks and governments, applied to every photo, file and note.

Your passcode is the key

The vault key is locked with your passcode using PBKDF2 with 600,000 rounds, which makes guessing slow.

No servers, no accounts

There is nothing to hack on our side because we never receive your data.

No back door

We can't reset your passcode. That's the trade-off that keeps it private.

Questions

What happens if I forget my passcode?

Nobody can recover it, including us. Your passcode is never stored or sent anywhere. You can erase the vault and start over, but its contents are gone. Pick something memorable and write it down somewhere safe.

Can you see my files?

No. Everything is encrypted on your device before it is saved, and nothing is uploaded. There are no accounts and no servers.

What if I lose my phone or switch to a new one?

Make a backup first. In Settings, tap Back up now to save one encrypted file with everything in your vault, then keep it in iCloud Drive, Google Drive or on a computer. On the new phone, tap Restore from a backup on the first screen and enter the passcode you had when you made it. A backup is encrypted like the vault itself, so only that passcode opens it, and we never see it.

Does Olivenlock sync between devices?

Not automatically. Your vault lives on the device where you created it, and backups are how you move it. The web version keeps its own separate vault in your browser.

Should I delete the originals after adding photos?

Yes. Olivenlock stores an encrypted copy, so delete the original from your photo library and from its Recently Deleted album.

Is it really free?

Yes. You can store up to 25 items for free with every security feature. Pro removes the limit.
